India Opal is a girl that really cares of people and some animals like this dog that she named the dog Winn Dixe because Opal  found the dog in a store because the dog (Winn Dixie) was so hungry. Then her dad with was a preacher said that she could keep the dog. Opal has very strong feelings like about Winn Dixie the owner of the store said that they had to take Winn Dixie to the pound and Opal felt bad that Winn Dixie had to go to to the pound so Opal since she felt bad for the dog Opal pretended like Winn Dixie was her dog.  Opal is a really kind person to everyone that is new to her because Opal and her dad moved so she has no more friends.

 If I was India Opal, I would feel very lonely when I didn’t have a mom. I feel very sorry for her. I hope her mom will come back. At least she met a dog in a market. I would like a dog who can understand people like Winn-Dixie. I think India Opal is really lucky to have a great dog. I can’t imagine not having a mom, a friend and a dad too busy to be a preacher. I’m relieved that she made many friends.

I think  India Opal is a good owner for Winn-Dixie. The reason I think India is a good owner for Winn-Dixie is because she doesn’t really have anything to do really so she’s got a lot of time for Winn-Dixie.   I think quite a lot of the time India doesn’t really get what she wants so getting  Winn-Dixie was a big thing. I think India is quite a qurios charachter.  At the moment India is probably petty happpy compared to when she didn’t have Winn-Dixie. India must hardly ever see her dad because she calls him preacher, she sad about that.

I think Opal is a nice girl. She feels sometimes brave about her situation and sometimes happy. and right now she feels really happy. Because she got a job, and got a friend in the library, and got invited on a pink party. 

I think that Opel is a very adventures character and it was very brave of her to clame the whole mess Winn-Dixie made her fault just so he didn’t go to the pound. I can realeate to Opel in a few ways one of them is that when I first moved I had absolutely no friends and then as the school year started I gradually made friends and I predict the same thing will happen to her too. If I were Opel I would probally feel the same things she feels.  I wonder how she feels about her dad being known as the preacher all over town. She must feel very strongly about it other wise why would she call him the preacher? Aain I like her a lot.

Now that we’ve met Opal and learned a little about her, what do you think about her as a character?  What are your reactions to her and her different situations?  How do you think she feels?

I think she’s a sweet and thoughtful girl.

I think India Opal can take care of herself and would love to take care of anybody else especially Winn- Dixie. I also think she enjoys having a pet as special as hers. I would fell the same as Opal if I would not have a mom and would not know any thing about her expect ten things. I hope Winn-Dixie will help Opal find her long lost mom. Maybe Winn-Dixie is her moms dog.
